KU Senate approves budget of Rs. 186.74 crore
Kakatiya University Academic Senate?at its 30th? meeting held on Saturday? morning? has approved a budget of Rs. 186.74 crore? for the next financial year 2015-16.?In the absence of Incharge Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. Veera Reddy, Senior Dean Prof. G. Damodar presided Senate Meet. Senior Professor of Commerce and Business Management ?Prof. M. Subramanya Sharma presented the annual budget which was unanimously approved by the Senate members. ?It is estimated that the university would get a revenue of Rs. 180.10 crore and the expenditure would be Rs. 186.74 crore. With an opening balance of Rs. 3.75 crore, the deficit comes to Rs. 2.89 crore. The university would get a grant-in-aid of? Rs. 67.77 crore towards staff salaries from the state government and the remaining would? be mobilized from? internal and other resources. ?
?An amount of Rs. 13.14 crore? was allocated for developmental activities which include Rs. 50 lakh? for auditorium, Rs. 5 crore for KU College of Engineering & Technology.?Further? an amount of Rs. 1.27 crores was earmarked for Sports Board, Rs. 1.72 crore for NSS activities, Rs. 7 lakh for Internet facilities, Rs. 33.15 crore for Examination Branch, Rs. 13.35 lakh? for University Library, Rs. 7.80 lakh for University Health Centre, Rs. 9.50 lakh? for? Welfare and recreations activities, Rs. 12.25 lakh for Student Services, Rs. 3.0 lakh for Library Automation, Rs. 17.00 lakh for plantation, beautification of campus, maintenance of lawns and? Rs. 30.00 lakh for laying of roads.
?Presiding over the senate Prof. G.Damodar apprised the Senate of the developmental activities of the university.? He mentioned that the Subedari Arts & Science College got NAAC accreditation with top A grade and the University is likely to go for accreditation in August this year. Apart from Youth Festival, the University has successfully conducted Central Zone Inter-University Sports in four events.? He exhorted to strive for providing higher education in newly formed Telangana State. The senate has also unanimously resolved to appoint Vice-Chancellor and also Executive Council for the University, to enhance block grant and to resolve the problem of Ph.D. admissions.
