KU to host International Conference on “Economic Reforms”

The Economics Department of Kakatiya University is organizing a two day International Conference on “25  years of Economic Reforms in India” from 28th January, 2017.  At a press meet convened on Tuesday University Vice-Chancellor Prof. R. Sayanna said that the main objective of this conference is to discuss and debate the situation following reform process after 1991. The conference would cover the aspects of Structural Transformation of the Indian Economy, Agrarian Structure, Development in the Industrial Sector, Emerging Trends in Service and other Sectors and their branches.  Disclosing that 400 research papers have been received, he said the conference would be organised in 21 sessions  at three venues on the campus simultaneously. Scholars in Economics from USA, England, Nepal, Australia, Vietnam are taking part in the deliberations, he said. Taking this opportunity, the Vice-Chancellor appraised the press about the developmental activities in the University.  This year the CBCS system has been introduced at under graduate level successfully and he said that the University is going for NAAC Reaccreditation for which the University administration is fully geared up for preparation. Conducting of convocation soon is his another priority.  Director of the Conference Dr. B. Suresh Lal said that there would be a separate sessions for Poster Presentation and Virtual Presentation. An exclusive session is earmarked for Development Perspectives of Telangana, he added. The papers  accepted would be evaluated by experts and published in the International Journal of   Innovative Research in Multi-disciplinary Field.  Hyderabad Centre for Economic and Social Studies Chairman Prof. R. Radha Krishna would inaugurate the Conference on 28th January at 10am in the Senate Hall of the University while University Vice-Chancellor Prof. R. Sayanna would preside over the inaugural session. Prof. Biswajith Dhar of JNU would deliver key  note address.   Kakatiya University former Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. Linga Murthy, Social Sciences Dean Prof. S. Srinath would participate as guests of honour. University Registrar Prof. M.V. Ranga Rao,  Prof. Gaddam Bhaskar, Prof. K. Manuja Devi were present at the Press Meet.
