Introduction of University Sports Board – I

The Sports Board of Kakatiya University is existing since the inception of the University in the year 1976 with 18 colleges and meager strength has grown into a massive organization with 510 colleges spread in Under-Graduation, Post-Graduation, Engineering, Pharmaceutical, Education and Physical Education Colleges by 2021-2022. It has been active ever since it’s inception in matters of sports and games for rural, backward and tribal students and won laurels from all quarters.  A perusal of various programmes organized by the Kakatiya Sports Board during these years would enable to understand how the changing concept and function of education from mere dissemination of the theoretical knowledge to the assumption of responsibilities for physical, psychological and spiritual development of the society has sensitized the members of the University Community as to the realities around the campus.  We place on record that the Principals, Physical Directors, and the Players spread in the three districts of Northern Telangana have been there at the very root of the success of the Kakatiya Sports.  It is these functionaries who helped the Kakatiya Sports Board was awarded the prestigious National Gold Medals (56), Silver Medals (44) and Bronze Medals (74) by Government of India, & Twelve (12) times Team Championships for its sportsmanship. The Players are actively participating in Intercollegiate tournaments and various players-Centric Training Programmes to develop positive personality traits, discipline, self-control, hard work, emotional stability and physically, mentally and mold the student's behavior socially acceptable. Prepare the students fit for employment sources like in the department of Police, Defense services, Fire services, Forest, Mines, Physical Education, and Railways. To develop healthy habits and good hobbies and to promote friendship among the students' interpersonal relationship, sociability, mobility, and positive thinking and utilize leisure time. To encourage competitive spirit, Dynamism, and adaptability to meet the challenges of life. To make every student realize his/her innate power, skills, energy and strengthen moral turpitude. To develop the various organic system of the body, so that they respond in a healthful way to increase the demand placed on them. The Sports, Kakatiya University has become an inseparable part of the sportsmanship life in the three Districts of North Telangana region of Telangana State.

Milestones in the Sports Board – III

The University Sports Board, Kakatiya University was awarded the prestigious National Gold Medals (56), Silver Medals (44) and Bronze Medals (74) by Government of India, & Twelve (12) times Team Championships for its sportsmanship.

The University has sponsored 40 Teams in the All India / South Zone Inter-University Tournaments conducted by various Universities under the auspices of Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

Activities of University Sports Board

University Sports Board is organizing the Inter collegiate tournaments every year in three phases, i.e., Men two phases and women-One Phase.
• Kakatiya University teams will be selected on performance based from Inter-collegiate Tournaments in the special focused players.
• Sports Board is conducting residential Coaching camps for a period of 15 days in each game/sport event and also providing Tracksuit, Kits, T.A and D.A at (Coaching camp and tournament) to participating players at All India / South Zone Inter-University championships organized by various Universities of India.
• The University sports Board is also giving incentives to the medal winners @ Rs. 6,000 /- for Gold, Rs. 4000/- for silver, Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 1000/- for IVth Place.
