Three Day Conference on Plant Diversity at KU
The Kakatiya University Botany department is organising a three day conference on “Plant Diversity : Challenges in Conservation and Sustainnable growth” during 4-6th February, 2016. It is being sponsored by New Delhi UGC, DST and TSCHE, Hyderabad, said organising secretary Dr. V. Krishna Reddy. Creating awareness among the young researchers about the on going research in the areas of Plant Diversity, Biodiversity, Agro biodiversity, Microbial Diversity, Crop Diversity, Environmental Protection, Forest conservation is the main objective of the conference, he added. Subject experts from Universities, Research Centres and Industries would deliver lectures in the three day conference conducted in eight sessions. In addition, twenty five research papers are selected for oral presentation. About two hundred delegates are participating the conference, Dr. Krishna Reddy said. TSCHE chairman Prof. T. Papi Reddy would inaugurate the conference in the Botany Seminar Hall on Thursday morning as chief guest. Director General of Centre for Hyderabad Forest and Natural Resource Management Studies Director General Dr. K.P. Sri Vasuki would deliver keynote address. Former faculty member of the department and Mahabubad MP Prof. A. Seetharam Naik, Prof. Khaja Althaf Hussain, Incharge Registrar, Prof. Vidyavathi, former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. S.M. Reddy, President, Indian Botanical Society would participate as guests of honour. Incharge Vice-Chancellor of the University T.Chiranjeevulu would preside over the inaugural programme. Prof. Ajmeera Ragan and Prof. B. Digamber Rao are the directors of the conference.
