The University Grants Commission, New Delhi has approved the proposal of the University for setting up of SC/ST Remedial Coaching Centre for NET vide sanction F.No. 4-3/04 (SCT), dated: 9/2/2005 and released an amount of Rs. 8.67 lakhs for 2005-2006 to take coaching classes.

Accordingly, the Centre was inaugurated on May 1st, 2005 in the Administrative Block of the University. To run the centre smoothly the following items were procured:

	One Computer with Printer
	Photocopier
	Inverter
	Television with DVD Player

The centre has acquired teaching aids like CDs containing the content of the NET, Black boards and course materia

During the first batch, 61 candidates were registered and appeared for the UGC-NET examination held during the month of June, 2005, of which only one Candidate - Ms. M. Shanti Priya, Public Administration with Hall Ticket No. R461026 - qualified the NET.

During the second batch, 80 candidates were registered and appeared for the UGC-NET examination held during the month of December, 2005, of which 3 candidates got qualified.

The coaching classes for the aforesaid two batches were conducted regularly and nearly all the students have attended the classes with enthusiasm. Books and course material were also provided to the students so as to enable them to prepare for the examination in a better way.
