Infrastructural Facilities:
The Department has sufficient accommodation facilities,
  • Four (4) Class rooms fully equipped,
  • Six (6) student Laboratories and 5 research laboratories etc.,

The research facilities includes
  • Materials preparation and characterization facilities,
  • Vickers's micro hardness tester,
  • Water bath for Crystal growth of single crystals,
  • Crystal growth of slower evaporation,
  • High temperature PID controlled furnaces,
  • JEOL-JDX-SP X-ray powder automated diffractometer,
  • Work station for theoretical physics group,
  • X-ray generator,
  • LCR-Hioki Hitester 3532,
  • Spin Coater,
  • Dip Coater,
  • Dielectric Bridge,
  • Keithley Electrometer,
  • UV-Vis Spectrometer,
  • Ball Mill for nanopowders and
  • Multichannel analyzer.

Twelve PCs are connected and networked through LAN to a Pentium server and Internet facilities are accessible to laboratories and faculty rooms. The same facility is being used as student computer center. This center is provided with National Instruments Virtual Laboratory. The Department attracts funding from agencies such as UGC under DRS-SAP.
