Brief History of the Department
Although the Computer Science Course were started in the year 1992 with PGDCA and MCA as independent courses, the 'Department of Informatics' was established in the year2001. The department presently is offering MCA (Four Semesters), M.Sc. (Computer Science) (Four Semester), and it also has the academic control over other courses such as B.Sc.(Computer Science), BCA and M.Sc. Information Systems offered at constituent and other affiliated colleges.
The student intake in AICTE approved MCA course is 60 and in M.Sc. (Computer Science) it is 60. Ph.D. students are selected through eligibility test conducted by Kakatiya University. The Department continuously updates the syllabus of these courses to suit to the changing technologies and needs of the stake holders.
